Catch up reports

Well, five months into the New Year and according to the Birth, deaths and Marriage columns, I'm still alive!
Due to work, among other things, I haven't been on top of the report work unlike Brian Seddon who manages to produce excellent reports in Imprint.
So far this year we have had a St Georges run out to a local charity vineyard (no, you don't get it for free!) for an excellent dinner.
The run took us through some splendid countryside right on our doorstep and made one think of what a beautiful country we live in.
We couldn't make the Haguelands week-end due to hospital appointment and then we were in Disney for a week.
Following the St George's Day run, I went to the Dover Transport Museum's weekend which was really good, as was the weather.
Well, at least dry and sunny!
The next weekend saw the start of the show season proper, with Merton Vintage Show, near Canterbury.
After four years of atrocious weather, the sun shone and the turn out by members was just like the old days!
This week end (19/5/13) has a plethora of events, but due to a wedding,I cannot get to them all, so on the Sunday we are attending a memorial/tribute to the Dambusters at Herne Bay.
It doesn't start until 1400hrs, so it's handy after the heavy night before!
In between all this, I have been concentrating on the War and Peace Revival Show at Folkestone Racecourse.
Last Saturday saw the official Press Day which was attended by hordes of people who had come to view the new venue and listen to the reasons behind the move and where everything is going to be.
A very positive air was felt about the whole event, and we all must keep an open mind and support the show as we have always done in the past. It IS a better venue, but will take a while to get used to the layout and the camping areas etc, and it will be a friendly, learning process for us all to make it better than the Hop Farm. No whingeing, just let's do it!
