Catch Up!

OK. Third time lucky!Computers, Keys,Awnings and trailer boards! I hate'em!
I thought that I had cracked it last time as - with photos - I pressed the upload button and when I came back, a message said that it hadn't uploaded and the item was nowhere to be found!
So here we go again! Since the Senlac rally at Bodium, it's been hectic.
Work, both for money and sorting out vehicles, have made the time flash by.
Weekend of the 23rd June saw 5 vehicles at the Lord Whiskey Sanctuary, to enjoy a night of frivolity before the display the next day.
The event this year was not as good as last year due to everyone cashing in on the Jubilee Celebrations, and with so much going on, even the boot-fair was poorly attended, to the extent that we were all on our way home by 1600 hrs!
Three vehicles made their way over to Dover to catch the final day of the Hellfire Corner event which -so I am told - was very good this year.
Next up was the bi-annual event of Hythe Festival, where only 9 military vehicles turned up and after the 'drive-thru' the High Street, we parked on the Hythe Green until it was time to go home.
The Sunday was Preston Steam Fair which- again- seemed smaller than previous years, but with a good turn out from IMPs members.
The 7th July came quickly to find us back at the Hythe Green for Armed Forces Day, but due to a communication problem we were there 3 hours too early.
This event went on until 1600 hrs at which point we formed a mini-convoy and drove to Lympne where the village '40's dance was to be held that evening.
Not being Fred Astaire and beloved slaving over a hot stove, I returned home for the evening before setting out on the Sunday to visit the Darling Buds of May rally near Pluckley.
This is a very good event and certainly worth a visit if you haven't already done so.
This year they opened another field or two to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles attending.
This made the arena smaller and there didn't seem to be as many stalls as in previous years.
The following Thursday saw a display of IMPs vehicles at the Folkestone Racecourse for the KFM Armed Forces event.
This should have been a good event, but the weather decided differently!
By 2100 hrs we were all cold, wet and fed up, that we left just as the Blondie tribute band struck to a vastly disappearing audience!
From the 14th to the 23rd we were at the mud-bath that was W&P!
Once again the weather tried to stop us as it did for the Kent Show, but we beat it!
Okay, a bit muddy and wet in places, but still a good show with lots going on.
A new event for the local IMPs, was Postling Airstrip.
This was held on the small airstrip in a little village just off of the old A20 to Folkestone, and is held every year for the locals, as a thank you for the noise of the helicopters that fly alongside the Spitfire so that people can photograph it.
It was a slow start to the day, with camping on the Friday and Saturday night available, but by the time the Hog Roast was ready and Charlie Brown had done his acrobatic display with the Spitfire, there were the best part of 250 people in the hanger to eat and dance the night away.
It was a great chill-out event, especially when it came to pushing the Spit in and out of the hanger, and for our very private fly-by the Sunday when it had to return to Duxford.
Thursday the ninth saw us arriving at Combined OPs for a weekend of glorious weather and the best show to date.
So, there you have it! Up to date! Happy driving and look forward to Souchez.
