Wet n' Windy merton Farm.

The long awaited event arrived!
A special weekend for me, not only the second outing with my new engine, but my birthday on the Saturday, my wedding anniversary on the Sunday and the first weekend with the trailer and camper van.
A great weekend to sit out around the fire toasting good health and happy memories.
No!
We arrived in good weather and after driving through the slurry, managed to get into our position, just past Mick Everall's caravan.
Once the Jeep was unloaded, I drove in a semi-circle to park up only to get stuck with my wheels spinning!
I towed the trailer with the Jeep and then the 'van until I had all in position.
Mnay of the vehicles coming in were being towed by a JCB as the conditions were getting worse.
That night we had rain accompanied by wind, which didn't bode well for the morning.
As with previous years, a lack of visitors made bad news for the stall-holders, while the arena events consisted of going around in a non-stop circle to avoid damaging the area.
It picked up a bit on the Sunday with Monday being the best day, by which time most of us had packed up and were making our way home.
The last time it was hot and dry there was 3 years ago!
We spent most of the time in the 'vans playing cards and drinking, listening to the rain outside!
We didn't visit the beer tent as we could here the bands quite clearly from where we were situated, but they certainly sounded good.
Already booked for next year in the hope of better weather, as this has to be the wettest drought ever!
