A Winter's Day - in April?

So I sit here in my penthouse studio, gazing through the patio doors (actually, in my loft staring through a Velux roof-light) making out through the murky gloom, interspersed with showers of rain, the lights of the Eurotunnel Terminal but a mile from my very spot.
In my fur-lined slippers and track suit bottoms topped off by a thick blue fleece, I recall the summer that we have just had in March and the fact that my Jeep is still in its quarters awaiting its heart transplant.
This will hopefully be remedied by next weekend, and I have all the winter kit ready to put on, so that I can once again enjoy the pleasure of driving it.
I'll let you know the whole story once it's back on the road!
The first run out will be our local St George's Day event on the 22nd, involving a trip over to the Frog & Orange to meet up with the rest of the members who live in the Thanet area, followed by a road run to who-knows-where, until we end up at the Cat & Custard Pot hostillery at Hawkinge!
The event is being organised by our secretary, Bob Ellis, and the cunning plan is that we travel east to return west while those in the east will travel west to return east, thus making it fair for all on time and fuel, if you get my drift!
A lunch has been arranged and if you are interested, then give Bob a mail on bobthebolt@hotmail.com.
I've also received my confirmation for the first major event, Merton Farm, and I hope that the weather picks up.We need the water, but can't we have it on a Monday -Thursday basis?
Anyway, must go, as the wind is now driving the rain against my patio-sorry- Velux window, and I have to go and tie the trees down in case they get blown away!
