A Dead Engine goes to Jeffery Engineering.

Well, after a season of dragging an overweight caravan about(must have been the weight of my daughter's hair dryer and curling tongs!)and strange noises emanating from under the hood, I finally came to rest on the M20 on the return from the Anniversary do with the sound of a hammer and chisel knocking away at the metal block known as the engine. Once being dragged home on a 6' bit of pipe connected to another Jeep, we stripped the head off to confirm the initial diagnosis of broken rings. Not a pretty sight! Eventually the engine was recovered to Jeffery Engineering, where it is now undergoing major surgery. As mentioned previously, this season I will be experimenting with a trailer on the back of a motor-home to avoid the Jeep struggling with the caravan, to avoid any more problems with the engine. So, once we're up and running I'll put it all into print and you'll get the full story with photos of the damage that can be caused by a broken ring, if you'll excuse the connotation!( Funny enough, I purchased an even more con-notated item at the Motor-home/Caravan show this week, Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure!) I'll leave that one up to you and a couple of photos of my piston.
